Footloose

Merging Media was contracted by the Charlotte Performing Arts Center in Charlotte, MI. to provide them with a sound system consisting of speakers, amplifiers and twenty channels of wireless mics for their production of Footloose. Merging Media also provided techs to help them put on memorable performances. The show was a musical done to a live band in the orchestra pit. Micing all the instruments and twenty wireless mics was accomplished by using outboard gear like compressor to keep the levels constant and programmable mute scenes in the Soundcraft Series Two. Each mute scene was programmed to each change on stage so that the tech could follow along with the script and scroll through the scenes muting and unmuting the actors and actresses as they appeared having the mics open only when needed.
